Key Responsibilities:

• The candidate will oversee all execution of the developed strategic plan which includes cost, schedule, and technical aspects. This requires building client and customer relationships, building business cases for equipment procurement, preparing performance specifications for approved equipment, preparing staffing requests, generating proposals that solve client challenges, establishing stake holders and securing funding to carry out the strategic plan. Project budgets, spend plans and schedules will be developed for tracking progress. In instances where custom equipment is required. The candidate will oversee the team of internal engineers and external contractors to design, build and commission the custom equipment. The candidate will be required to establish teams to quote and execute projects and programs.

Basic Qualifications:

• Have a BS degree in mechanical, electrical, or aerospace engineering with 8 years related experience or an MS with 6 years related experience or a Phd with at least 4 years related experience.
• Have knowledge of solid-state welding or at minimum understanding of fusion welding practices and related material characteristics.
• Understanding of CNC machining practices.
• Understanding of basic machine design and manufacturing process flow.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Business relationship building
• Federal Government contracting experience.
• The ability to create a vision for business growth.
• The ability to carry out visions and strategies.
• Ability to ensure contract vehicles are available for new contract actions.
• Quoting projects and programs in the research and applied engineering arena that have not been performed in the past.
